Candy, Andy & The Bearandas

In a perfect English village, two panda bears, Mr. and Mrs. Bearanda, raise their plastic children, Candy and Andy.

Conceived by Gerry Anderson's for the 1960s comics market, the images created for the photostrips take a surreal look at domesticity, family and childhood. Because of their unusual nature, they never achieved the popularity of Anderson's other characters, and the comics were discontinued after a year.

This photo book presents their dreamlike world through the carefully restored images presented in a leatherette hardback binding. With foreword by Jamie Anderson and an introduction tracing the history of the Candy Project by historian and animator Alan Dein.
